This collection was inspired by daily walks taken along the Barbour Road on the Cove Peninsula in Scotland, where Alex spent a silversmithing residency at Cove Park, in October 2006. Slate greys and blues of rock, clouds, sea, rain, and thunderous Scottish skies threaded with sharp silvery sunlight inspired a collection of experimental objects that reflect the local landscape. Alex created objects from the things she found on her walks, such as an old Beetle car bonnet, wool from local sheep and shells. As a collection they evoke powerful memories of the place, the people and the moment.
